Academic Programmes
CWAI-Kolkata:
Two non-formal academic schools are run at Joradokan and Masjidbari in Keoradanga, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Recently, the schools have been named ‘Anindita Memorial Vidyapeeth’ in memory of their mentor, Late Smt. Anindita Mukherjee.
- Children receive all-inclusive education from Pre-Primary to Class VI (WB State Board syllabus), preparing them for regular schooling.
- Free education, uniforms, and daily snacks are provided.
- Students also learn art, music, and dance.
- Trained and dedicated teachers, appointed by CWAI Kolkata, receive a monthly salary.
Vasavya Mohila Mondali (VMM) in Andhra Pradesh, a CWAI member society, offers formal and non-formal education to neglected women and children and arranges sponsorships for higher education.
Vocational Programmes
CWAI-Kolkata:
Tailoring Course (Alimore and Keoradanga)
- Run by trained teachers for girls and women.
- Includes training in cutting and stitching.
- Nominal fee for a 6-month course.
- Exams and certificates on completion.
- Teachers receive monthly salaries from CWAI Kolkata.
Handloom and Weaving Centre (Keoradanga)
‘Tant’ weaving has been a signature endeavor of CWAI-Kolkata
- Two weavers were engaged in weaving of tablecloths, bedsheets, and bags.
- Products displayed in the Annual Exhibition for sale.
- Temporarily closed due to lack of funds but will resume soon.
Beautician Course (Society 5’O, Joka):
CWAI-Kolkata:
- Covers bridal makeup, hairdressing, and skincare.
- Run by trained professionals with exams and certification after 6 months.
Computer Course (Society 5’O, Joka):
CWAI-Kolkata:
- Twice-weekly classes for adults and children.
- Basic computer learning by trained teachers.
VMM, CWAI-AP also offers skill development training in Fashion designing, Beautician and Computer to women for self-employment and placement.
